Course 1 - Serotonergic Psychedelics & Hallucinogens

Focus on Magic Mushrooms and Psilocybin

Serotonergic Psychedelics & Hallucinogens:

When Serotonergic Hallucinogens are consumed, they produce intense psychoactive physiological manifestations, including hallucinations, dissociative behavior, and abnormalities in perception of the user’s reality. They will also disconnect a person from his or her actual reality.

Could hallucinogens be utilized as medicines?

Recently, there has been renewed interest in serotonergic psychedelics and hallucinogens for possible therapeutic benefits. The largest area of study is in the treatment of depression and addiction with magic mushrooms and Psilocybin. There is recent evidence that psilocybin microdosing may be effective in treating depression, and it is currently being studied in human clinical trials.

The Serotonergic Psychedelics and Hallucinogens to be explored and discussed include:

  • Psilocybin (Magic mushrooms)
  • LSD
  • Peyote (mescaline)
  • DMT (N,N-dimethyltryptamine)

Dr. Bornstein will present a clear peer-reviewed discussion of serotonergic psychedelics and hallucinogens in this new and unique 4-hour webinar. The discussion will begin with a detailed examination of neurotransmitters (focusing on Serotonin) and its importance in consciousness. He will then deeply explore historical and current data concerning serotonergic hallucinogens, focusing on Psilocybin and magic mushrooms.
